Overview
In 2021, Rocket acquired a budgeting and subscription management product called Truebill (rebranded to Rocket Money) which they hoped to leverage as a lead generation and customer acquisition platform.
Rocket’s product strategy was evolving from a “storefront” with distinct access points for each product to an integrated “platform”, with one centralized hub named “MyRocket”.
Context
Centralized dashboard to facilitate cross-sale
Rocket Mortgage's cost to acquire a new customer was very high, mostly relying on low conversion channels like outbound sales and digital ads. Acquiring Truebill provided access to a large user base, many actively looking or budgeting to buy a home. The primary goal of the MyRocket platform was to incubate potential new customers and facilitate the transition between "saving" and "buying".
